GREEN DOT

Widely recognized throughout Europe, the Green Dot symbol on our products is an indication that we have made a financial contribution to a packaging recovery system.

ETHICAL SOURCING

Many of our raw materials are sourced from our family farm in Malibu according to the principals of permaculture. What we can’t grow ourselves, we source from suppliers with a proven record of ethical and sustainable practices.

ONE TREE PLANTED

In 2020, we partnered with One Tree Planted to fight deforestation and global warming. For every product purchased at Retrouve.com, we plant one tree. Thanks to your generosity, we have already sponsored the planting of over 16,000 trees to date.

pact collection program

Most municipal manufacturing facilities do not have the ability to recycle small components commonly used in beauty packaging, such as caps and pumps. We have partnered with the Pact Collection Program, an organization that collects hard-to-recycle packaging or packaging that will not be recycled in curbside recycling programs to find the best use for that material, keeping it out of landfills.

PLASTIC COLLECTIVE

We are always working to reduce the plastic in our products. In addition to using glass bottles as much as possible, Retrouvé has partnered with the Plastic Collective to help offset our plastic footprint. Plastic Collective is a leading global resource to provide solutions to the plastic waste epidemic.

We are also partnering with The ASASE Foundation on a special initiative to provide funding to help sustain indigenous women in need in Accra, Ghana who assist in the collection of plastic on beaches and in shallow waterways in order to lessen the issue of ocean-bound plastic.

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

We endeavor to make our outer packaging as small and light in weight as possible (while still being protective of the product inside), allowing for less waste and less heavy mailings, both of which reduce Retrouvé’s carbon footprint. We use recycled paper, and our kraft cardboard mailers are composed of 100% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable.

In addition, our mailers are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified to ensure that the material originates from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits for local communities. Lastly, the boxes are printed with 100% recyclable, water-based and chemical-free ink.

We are currently working to refine the rest of our packaging to be equally sustainable.

VEGAN CERTIFIED

We are delighted that five of our products – Luminous Cleansing Elixir, Skin Brilliance Priming Pads, Conditioning Tonic with Chamomile, Nutrient Face Serum, and Balancing Face Oil – are certified vegan by Biorius. But the work isn’t done. We are constantly working to incorporate more vegan products into our line.
